Fishing

Easdale Island has seven flooded quarries. Choose which one in which to cast your line – if Mr Fishy won’t bite, try another….. Why not catch a crab off the jetty? No licence needed to fish anywhere on the island.

Swimming

One of the flooded quarries is a natural swimming pool. Shallow at one end and deep at the other it is used frequently by people for outdoor swimming. Being not so deep the water warms fairly quickly in the summer sun – so I’m told!! Bring swim gear and/or wetsuits.

Sailing

Easdale is a useful place to stop off for a couple of nights on a sailing holiday. A safe harbour for your boat and using our B&B, a bed on solid ground whilst you make use of the shower and washing machine, not forgetting a welcome pint and a delicious meal in the Puffer or Oyster Bars!

The World Stone Skimming Championships

Held every year in late September this is a non too serious contest to see who can skim a stone across the Skimming Quarry and hit the back wall. Attracting approximately a thousand people from near and far the island is transformed from a quiet though vibrant community to a mass of fun loving crazyness!
